The Indian River County Lawyers Auxiliary sponsors a variety of programs throughout the year.
The Dependency Court Project provides toys and books to the courts for children involved in dependency proceedings.
The Literacy Challenge serves a Title I school, by providing each child in one grade level one or two books per month, October through May. This program encourages reading and helps build home libraries.
Law Week: The IRC Lawyers Auxiliary has worked with the IRC Bar and Young Lawyers Division, placing attorneys and judges in classrooms and offering lesson plans with an emphasis on the rule of law.
"A Constitution in Every Pocket," is provided to 7th-grade Civics students at the beginning of each school year, which helps prepare them for the end of the year Civics exam.
Our "Tools to Learn" school supply project provides school supplies to children in public and independent schools in Indian River County, through their teachers.
An IRSC Scholarship is offered to a student who is enrolled in Paralegal Studies/Legal Asst. or Criminal Justice programs and meets eligibility requirements.
The funding for our programs is obtained through membership dues, fundraising events and donations.
